FilmAfrica DIFFFilmAfrica‘s inaugural year will delve into the rich and diverse world of Kenyan cinema. Experience this journey with a captivating 2-hour program at AMC, The Grove in Los Angeles, featuring a showcase of feature and short films. This special event, a highlight of the DaVinci International Film Festival’s Seventh Edition (D7), will also include a Q&A session with the filmmakers.

FilmAfrica will also include a captivating panel discussion and a keynote address from industry leaders and representatives, offering valuable insights and fostering dialogue about the power of storytelling in Kenya, Africa.

FilmAfrica will kick off D7 with a star-studded red carpet event, Friday, October 10th, making it the perfect opening night experience. We are thrilled to announce that esteemed VIP guests will be joining us for this momentous occasion. Stay tuned for exciting announcements regarding our special attendees!

In-Competition Film Format (Los Angeles):

  • Feature Film (Narrative / Documentary)
  • Short Film (Narrative / Documentary / Animation)

Eligibility:

  • Films must be produced by African filmmaker(s), OR;
  • The subject matter or story must be centered around African culture.

Screening Format:

  • DCP film file is required for showcase should your submission be Selected.
