Who Can Participate? (Eligibility)

The Jr. Leo Awards program is open to registered student filmmakers who meet the following criteria:

  • 16+ years old
  • Must possess a valid (current) student ID, which will be verified with your school or organization.
  • United States Residents Only
  • Eligible student categories include: Vocational (Trade) School, High School, University, and College students.

Jr. Leo Awards Film Rules:

To ensure a fair and consistent judging process, please adhere to the following rules:

  • Short Format: Your film must have a total running time (TRT) of less than 40 minutes, including all credits.
  • DCP File Delivery: You must be able to deliver a Digital Cinema Package (DCP) film file if selected.
  • Categories: We welcome submissions in the following categories:
    • Narrative
    • Documentary
    • Animation
