DaVinci International Film Festival would like to thank all of our filmmakers, screenwriters, guests, sponsors and volunteers for making our 2nd Annual an incredible experience all-around. Thank you; we simply could not have done it without you. Congratulations again to all of our Finalists, Vitruvian’s and Leo Award winners for their amazing work. We look forward to your future success, and excited to see more from you!
VITRUVIAN AWARD™ SHOWCASE
DIFF kicked off its 2nd Annual Vitruvian Award™ Showcase on June 22, 2019 with a full day of award-winning cinema and screenwriting. The first and seconds blocks featured films from Basque Spain, Italy, Serbia and the United States, including the Leo Award winning documentary, Ballad of a Righteous Merchant by Herbert Golder. The second seating was followed by an Honorable Mention block, where a variety of short subjects were screened (not in competition).
DIFF’s third and fourth blocks of VItruvian films included narrative projects from Azerbaijan, Senegalese Canada, India, and the United States; short film Difficult People by Sohil Vaidya took home the Leo Award. The festival’s final two blocks included a DIFFdocs showcase as well as long and short format narrative, all from the United States.
Each block was followed by filmmaker Q&A, and the night ended with Vitruvian and Leo Award presentations, the Colorspace Finishing Award, and a DIFF After Party, presented by The Pizza Plant.
DaVinci International Film Festival continues to broaden its reach around the world to recognize amazing independent cinema from all walks of life. We were honored to host the Consulate General at our Live Showcase Event, and present him with both a filmmaker award and Honorary Vitruvian Award.
